Brighton and Hove Albion have very kindly agreed to allow the Sussex Heart Charity to have a collection day at the Amex stadium on Saturday 24th February 2018 at the Brighton and Hove Albion v Swansea game.
In 2010 when the new American Express Community Stadium was built The Sussex Heart Charity were delighted to offer to equip the stadium with 8 AED’s and to offer ongoing training for staff in basic life support and the use of the AEDs.
In 1977 the Brighton and Hove Albion football club was the first club in Europe to have paramedics on duty with vital lifesaving equipment. With tens of thousands of excited spectators there is a greatly increased chance of someone having a heart attack which can lead to a cardiac arrest. A report published 1982 in the British Medical Journal highlighted a number of successful resuscitations during a 5-year period.
We were very pleased to be involved in supporting Brighton and Hove Albion staff, and the vital lifesaving equipment and training we have provided has undoubtedly saved lives at the Amex Stadium.
Please support us on the 24th, If you see one of our collectors there please drop a few coins in to our buckets and help us to continue to place lifesaving defibrillators in the community.
We will need 20+ collectors on the day from 12:00 till 3:00pm. If you would like to help us collect, please contact us via Facebook or by phone 01273 523028 for more information.
